The new logo of ifm electronic
After 17 years, ifm electronic's corporate design is undergoing a considerable change. The modified ifm company logo will be launched in October/November 2006.
ifm has changed its logo seven times since its foundation 37 years ago. Six of these changes took place in the first 20 years - and none in the past 17 years: a high level of continuity demonstrated by the family-owned company. As a consequence, customers and suppliers alike have virtually ingrained the company logo in their minds.
Reasons for a new logo
Why then such a change? After almost two decades, the "old" ifm logo no longer meets all of today's essential requirements. Readability and the strikingness of the logo on large surfaces, in particular, are only possible with the "old" logo if conditions are right. So, the management of ifm electronic decided in 2003 to modify the company logo.
The goal was to achieve the transition from the existing company logo to a modern logo, meeting today's requirements.
Advantages of the new logo Orange, the ifm colour, is not only memorable but also stands for vitality and humanity in all cultures. The same applies to the circle. As a globe, it symbolises the worldwide networking of ifm with its customers and - as a quality mark - the quality of ifm's products. The dot on the "i" stands for the extra service and close contact we offer to our customers.
