New ifm subsidiary in South Africa |

After a close and mutually beneficial 30 year relationship, ifm electronic has reached an amicable agreement with Shorrock Automation that will result in ifm electronic establishing a subsidiary in South Africa as from the 1 March 2008. The two companies will continue to work closely together in the future to ensure that their clients continue to receive the unsurpassed quality service that they have received in the past.
ifm electronic will operate its head office in the same building as Shorrock Automation in Pretoria and will continue to operate the branch offices in Durban, Port Elizabeth, Rustenburg, Richards Bay, Klerksdorp and Vaal. In addition to the existing branch offices, ifm electronic will open a new branch office in Steelpoort which is currently the fastest growing mining area in South Africa.
In order to maintain stability and continuity, all the “ifm” staff members within Shorrock Automation have been transferred to the new ifm electronic subsidiary.
